Hi!

I’m Amanda Day, founder of Wholesome Bakes. I run a licensed home microbakery out of my Mediapolis, IA kitchen with a mission to help people with food sensitivities enjoy bread again. Specializing in long-fermented sourdough, I uses simple, organic, and anti-inflammatory ingredients in all my creations.

My journey began when my young daughter, Addy, was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis after suffering from chronic illness. Determined to support my daughter’s healing, I researched autoimmune conditions and discovered the benefits of slow-fermented grains. This discovery sparked my passion for sourdough baking and radically shifted my family’s diet.

I craft all products from scratch using clean ingredients—no bleached flours, artificial dyes, preservatives, or other harmful ingredients.

It has been such a blessing to be able to share my passion for sourdough with my community while still being able to stay home and raise my five children!
